CASHIER (PART TIME)

Position Cashier (Part‑time). Open immediately. Location and Schedule Location: Norwalk Hospital – 34 Maple Street, Fairfield, CT 06824. Schedule: 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; rotating weekends. Part‑time. Work performed on campus; online applications only. Compensation Pay Range: $18.20 to $20.07 per hour. Position Overview The cashier assists with monetary transactions, provides customer service, and supports general food‑service tasks while maintaining sanitation and hygiene in the dining area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform sales transactions promptly and accurately. Enter all sales into the cash register. Issue change, accept cards and other payment methods, and provide receipts. Follow procedures for issuing cash refunds. Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly manner. Maintain compliance with overage/shortage standards for cash drawer. Observe customer purchases at the cafe line and differentiate between standard portions. Replenish condiments, coffee, drinks, and general supplies while keeping service areas clean. Keep pastry case stocked. Ensure compliance with service standards, inventory, and cash‑control procedures. Maintain sanitation, ServSafe, and safety requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous cash handling experience required.
