FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Location : Washburn University Job Summary Full‑time and part‑time Food Service Worker / Cashier positions available at Washburn University. Key Details Location : 1700 Southwest College Avenue, Topeka, KS 66621 Schedule : Full‑time and part‑time shifts, including lunch and dinner; hours may vary. Pay Rate : $12.00 – $13.00 per hour Perks : Free shift meals, free uniforms, on‑site training Qualifications Prior food service and cashier experience preferred. Responsibilities Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables. Weigh and measure ingredients as specified. Move pans, kettles, and trays between stations, stove, and refrigerator following safety standards. Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment. Store foods in designated areas per wrapping, dating, and food safety procedures. Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. Follow approved recipes and production standards for quality, temperature, and portion control. Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following service steps. Interact with customers and resolve complaints service‑orientedly. Relay relevant information to supervisor. Process sales transactions: enter sales, give change, accept cards, issue receipts. Handle cash drawer, monitor overage/shortage standards. Replenish condiments, beverages, and supplies while keeping service area clean. Perform other duties as assigned.
