Description:
The CT Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as image quality.
Applies professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates, and responds to questions or concerns.
Ensures an age-appropriate approach to communication and safety needs, patient education, and principles of physical/functional growth and development.
Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques.
Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment, and services as part of their training.
Verifies the ordered exam and appropriateness utilizing assessment data and principles of growth and development.
Administers contrast as directed.
Positions the patient and equipment to achieve optimal images.
Utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images.
Works with physicians to evaluate the images and determine whether additional images are needed.
Applies radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
Ensures the application of professional knowledge in preparing patients for procedures and responding to their questions or concerns.
