Job Overview This role is in Textron Systems’ Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC) business area. The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for maintenance actions on ATAC’s aircraft as well as the safe and expeditious launch and recovery flight line operations at permanent and detachment sites. Job Responsibilities Maintenance efforts in support of company commitments Proficient in one type/model aircraft and helper on additional type/model aircraft Training of maintenance personnel Manage assigned maintenance programs Assist with coordination of detachment requirements with Crew Chiefs (as necessary) Obtain and maintain Detachment Lead qualification Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls Perform 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories, perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects Additional responsibilities as delineated by Production Supervisor and Crew Chiefs Manage programs as assigned Travel up to 25% Qualifications Minimum requirements include at least an A&P certification or 5 years of military aircraft maintenance equivalency Capability to perform unsupervised complex maintenance actions and hold or have held a QAR qualification, engine turn qualification or advanced troubleshooting experience Capability to manage assigned additional collateral programs, train junior mechanics on aircraft systems / GOPs / safety practices, competent in the use of specialized tooling and/or test equipment and supervise aircraft servicing Performance will be continuously monitored by supervision and reviewed annually with the employee Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
