General Manager

The General Manager (GM) at MICS Karaoke operates as an entrepreneurial business owner. You hold ultimate accountability for a high-energy ription: entertainment venue generating premium food, beverage, and private room rental revenue. You will manage financial performance, drive operational excellence, and champion talent development. This is a highly hands-on role. You will lead by example, working alongside your team across the front desk, private rooms, bar, and kitchen to deliver a vibrant and seamless guest experience. Key Responsibilities Recruit and Onboard: Attract, interview, and hire high-performing guest service hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff. Develop Talent: Mentor shift leads and staff to build a strong internal promotion pipeline. Lead by Example: Work directly on the floor (checking in guests, troubleshooting room equipment, or supporting the bar) during peak weekend rushes. Foster Culture: Create an energetic, fun, and inclusive workplace culture to maintain high employee morale and retention. Financial Performance & Growth P&L Management: Review profit and loss statements weekly to optimize revenue from room bookings, food, and beverage sales. Cost Controls: Drive strict inventory audits on alcohol and food, while managing labor hours against real-time room booking curves. Sales Growth: Execute local marketing initiatives, corporate party packages, and weekday promotions to maximize room occupancy rates. Operational Excellence & Compliance Venue Compliance: Enforce strict alcohol service compliance and age-verification checks. Tech & Quality Assurance: Ensure all private room AV systems, wireless microphones, karaoke software, and lighting systems are fully functional. Facilities Auditing: Oversee routine maintenance, manage tech upgrades, and maintain pristine cleanliness across all private suites and public areas. Required Profile & Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required (bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or Entertainment Management preferred). Minimum of 1–2 years of hospitality, nightlife, bar, or high-volume restaurant management experience. Current ServSafe Manager and state-approved Alcohol Server Certifications (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire). Core Competencies Resilience: Ability to thrive in a high-volume, loud, late-night, and physically demanding environment. Tech-Savvy: Comfort troubleshooting basic audio-visual systems, microphone setups, and specialized POS/booking software. Financial Literacy: Strong foundational understanding of P&L statements, pour costs, food costs, and labor metrics. Work Schedule Requirements Flexibility to work late-night closing shifts, including weekends and holidays. Average work week consists of 50–55 hours. Must be present in-store during peak hours and weekends Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: Competitive market base salary (dependent on experience and geographic location).
