JOB SUMMARY

This internship is structured to provide meaningful learning experiences, with mentorship and guidance from the Director of Communications. Interns will have opportunities to participate in team meetings, receive feedback on their work, and engage in learning sessions related to nonprofit communications and digital strategy. This internship will contribute to increasing audience engagement and visibility of our work across platforms, with opportunities to explore content creation (graphics and video) and storytelling for impact. This paid, part‑time internship is ideal for a motivated student or early‑career professional seeking hands‑on experience in social media management and digital communications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & KEY OUTCOMES

Assist in tracking upcoming content needs, events, and campaigns into the content calendar Assist with assigning, tracking, and following up on content development tasks Draft engaging copy tailored for various platforms (Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook) Identify or create accompanying graphics using brand guidelines and templates Schedule and publish content using HubSpot Support creation of short‑form videos or reels (Bonus, not required) Collaborate with the marketing and communications team members to support real‑time engagement and strategy

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIALS

Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate Strong writing and organizational skills Experience with Canva, HubSpot, or other content creation and scheduling tools is a plus Interest in disability rights, inclusive education, or nonprofit work is strongly encouraged

COMPETENCIES

Clear communicator with a strong attention to detail Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks Creativity and initiative in proposing ideas or improvements Willingness to learn and collaborate across teams
