Tax Accountant Public HYBRID OFF SEASON Location: WESTCHESTER COUNTY (Hybrid during Off-Season) Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000 A dynamic, multi-location public accounting firm in the Tri-State area is seeking a Public Accountant to join its office. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base, handling complex tax engagements for businesses, trusts, and estates. The ideal candidate is a strong tax professional with public accounting experience who enjoys problem-solving, client interaction, and multi-state tax work. Key Responsibilities: Prepare federal and state tax returns for approximately 40 Trust & Estate entities, 40 Partnerships, 40 S Corporations, and 3 C Corporations annually. Prepare and manage New York and Connecticut PTET filings, including quarterly estimated tax payments. Analyze K-1s from multi-tiered entities and ensure proper state and local tax allocations. Prepare Personal Property Tax declarations and NYC RPIE filings. Reconcile and report payroll tax and sales tax filings. Review, organize, reconcile, and correct client financial records maintained in QuickBooks and other accounting systems. Provide guidance regarding tax elections, distributions, sales transactions, and other complex tax matters. Collaborate directly with clients and team members to obtain information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting. Perform financial analysis and support tax compliance and planning activities across multiple jurisdictions, including NY, CT, NJ, MA, PA, NC, and SC.
