Job Title: Machine Operator ENTRY LEVEL (No experience needed)

Job Description

This role focuses on setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to produce precision parts to exact specifications. You will read and interpret technical documentation, perform accurate measurements and inspections, and help maintain a safe, clean, and efficient production environment while collaborating closely with a small team of operators.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines, including Okuma lathe machines and Seiki mills, to produce parts according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
• Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other hand tools to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain product quality, efficiency, and throughput.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and promptly report any mechanical issues or malfunctions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with established safety regulations and procedures.
• Complete production logs, inspection records, and other documentation accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily and long-term production goals.
• Use mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve basic mechanical and machining issues.
• Handle general production tasks, including packing, material handling, and use of power tools as needed.

Work Environment

This role is based in a small machine shop that supplies precision parts to the aerospace industry. The production floor has approximately ten operators, creating a tight-knit and collaborative team environment. The workspace is hot and loud, with active CNC machines, power tools, and other equipment in operation throughout the shift. You will work on and around Okuma lathe machines, Seiki mills, and various hand and power tools, following established safety protocols at all times. Attire should be appropriate for a manufacturing setting, with practical clothing suitable for a shop environment and any required personal protective equipment provided or specified by the employer.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morton Grove, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Morton Grove,IL.
