Machine Learning Engineer

Salary: $120,000 - 180,000 per year Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret-level security clearance or higher are required; an active Top Secret clearance is a plus.
• Ability to work full time at a client site in Washington, DC.
• A bachelors degree or higher in machine learning, data science, statistics, computer science, economics, mathematics, information systems, or a related field is preferred.
• At least two years of professional experience in machine-learning delivery.
• Experience with object detection and computer vision models such as YOLO, MMDetection, R-CNN, SSD, FPN, or RetinaNet.
• Programming experience with languages such as Python, R, Scala, SQL, JavaScript, C/C++, or Java.
• Experience with libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark ML/MLlib, or Jupyter.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Must have valid U.S. work authorization that does not require, and will not require in the future, employer sponsorship.
• Preferred: certifications in data science, machine learning, AI, or cloud technologies; experience with SDLC and DevOps in IT project teams; familiarity with distributed big-data ecosystems such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Pig, or Kafka; experience designing cloud-based databases, data lakes, and data warehouses; and experience with tools such as Azure Machine Learning and Cognitive Services, AWS SageMaker, Polly and Rekognition, DataRobot, or H2O.ai.

• Build high-quality code components for services, servers, distributed systems, and backend architecture supporting Microsoft products.
• Collaborate with engineers, artists, producers, designers, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Integrate current AI, machine-learning, and computer-vision capabilities into product and service designs.
• Evaluate requirements, resources, and alternatives to develop machine-learning solutions.
• Analyze data and assess pipelines; create structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data stores to support frameworks and models.
• Develop custom algorithms, frameworks, and models, or apply existing tools and libraries to solve complex problems.
• Deploy machine-learning solutions and create approaches for scaling them.
• Present findings and explain proposed solutions to clients and team members.
• Keep current with machine-learning developments in industry and academia.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify use cases such as object detection, optical character recognition, automation, predictive modeling, pattern analysis, natural language processing, and fraud detection.
