Job Title: Garnishment Specialist Job Description

The Garnishment Specialist manages and processes wage garnishments and other court-ordered financial obligations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant withholdings. This role collaborates closely with payroll, accounting, creditors, attorneys, and employees to maintain accurate records, resolve discrepancies, and support regulatory compliance within a highly ethical and growth-oriented corporate environment.

• Process and manage garnishment orders, including wage attachments, bank levies, and other court-ordered financial obligations, in an accurate and timely manner.
• Review garnishment documentation for completeness and accuracy, and ensure proper setup and maintenance within payroll systems.
• Interact with creditors, attorneys, and employees to gather required documentation, clarify information, and resolve discrepancies related to garnishment orders.
• Collaborate with payroll and accounting teams to ensure correct and timely garnishment withholdings and disbursements.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all garnishment activities to support audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Monitor and report on garnishment activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Stay current with changes in garnishment laws, regulations, and best practices, and communicate relevant updates to the team.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements related to garnishment administration and implement enhancements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders and external parties regarding garnishment status, calculations, and procedures.
• Support payroll operations by assisting with related tasks as needed to ensure smooth and compliant payroll processing.

• Experience working with garnishments, including wage attachments, bank levies, and other court-ordered financial obligations.
• Accounting and payroll experience with a strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, recordkeeping, and reporting.
• Ability to interpret and apply garnishment orders and related legal documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing financial and payroll data.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with creditors, attorneys, employees, and internal teams.
• Ability to collaborate with payroll and accounting teams to ensure accurate garnishment withholdings.
• Capability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports to meet regulatory and audit requirements.

• Experience using Vista ViewPoint payroll or HR systems.
• Experience working with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) systems.
• Familiarity with garnishment laws and regulations and an interest in staying current with regulatory changes.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements in payroll or garnishment operations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple garnishment cases simultaneously.
• Commitment to ethical practices and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial and employee information.

This role operates within a corporate payroll environment that emphasizes trust, integrity, and ethical practices. You will join a small, specialized garnishments team of three people, becoming the fourth team member, and work closely with a larger payroll group of approximately forty professionals. The position offers significant exposure within the corporate office and opportunities for professional growth and career development. The standard schedule consists of four 10-hour workdays, providing a structured and predictable workweek. You will work with payroll and HR technologies, including Excel and systems such as Vista ViewPoint and UKG, in a collaborative setting where cross-functional communication with payroll and accounting teams is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lewisville, TX 75067.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
