Details Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/IMC/Stepdown) Cardiac and neurological telemetry patient population, including CVA cases Patient ratio of 1:4-5 Charting completed in Cerner Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30), 36 hours per week 10 weekend shifts required per contract Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity when census drops Requirements Active RN license (MD or compact license required) Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS 2 years of recent PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown telemetry experience within the last 7 years required Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration Experience with cardiac drip titration and heparin protocols Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment Additional Information Provide telemetry-based nursing care within a stepdown/PCU setting Responsible for cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response activation as needed Navy blue/white scrubs required; scrubs not provided Flu vaccine required for all employees Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler First-time travelers are not eligible for this position American Traveler Job ID P-764816.
