The Warehouse Control Tech Courier is responsible for receiving and distributing supplies and equipment. Participates and supports external courier service program.
Education
High School Diploma or GED

Qualifications
Ability to drive a box truck or a cargo van. Ability to lift heavy supplies and equipment. Ability to organize and plan daily work. Demonstrates skilled use of standard office equipment and computers. Good communication and mathematics skills. One year of related experience preferred.
Area of Responsibilities
Assures all supplies and equipment are received accurately and delivered to designated area by prescribed deadlines. Handles supplies correctly to avoid crushing, bending, compressing, or puncturing the packaging; thus, compromising the sterility of the contents. Packages are given through visual inspection for integrity and labeling prior to issuance. Issues inventory supplies to requesting departments in an accurate manner to ensure quantity ordered equals quantity issued. Responsible for checking courier vehicles assuring that units have adequate fuel and oil levels, safe tire tread, working headlights and turn signals. Reports required vehicle maintenance to the Support Center. Supports either directly or indirectly departmental courier service by ensuring required items (supplies, mail, etc.) are delivered to the specified locations within the prescribed deadlines while minimizing labor. Assures that all supplies and equipment being shipped out are properly boxed and sent to correct destination as well as return information scanned into Valco. Completes other tasks as assigned by the Storeroom Coordinator or Materials Management Director. Maintains strong customer service relationships with hospital staff and exhibits teamwork behavior with co-workers. Performs other duties such as scanning, entering data into inventory system, and cleaning department. Maintains a clean work station and work area. When Bio-Hazardous materials are being handled and transported all OSHA regulations must be followed at all times.
Compliance Statement

Effect Of Error
Probable errors may be serious and involve losses such as improper costs, overpayment, waste of material, damage to equipment, and delay in processing work. Effect usually confined within the organization. Most of work not subject to direct verification or check. Regularly works with some confidential data such as account, salaries, patient medical records, which if disclosed might have adverse internal or external effects.

Mental Demands
Routine duties using one or more of several established procedures within a prescribed practice under general supervision. Involves minor decisions many of which are repetitive.
Physical Effort
Strenuous physical effort - Sustained muscular exertion with medium and heavy objects. Hard work with constant strain or intermittent severe strain.
Working Conditions
Moderate - (About 50% of the day) Involved in exposure to dirt, odors, noise, or some work is performed with exposure to temperature/weather extremes/occupational risk. Limited probability of coming into contact with blood borne pathogens, other potentially infectious diseases, or biomedical/bio-hazardous materials.
