Senior Electrical Procurement Manager

OverviewFreedom Source, a subsidiary of Suffolk Construction, is seeking highly organized and strategic Senior Electrical Procurement Manager to lead the direct sourcing and procurement of electrical materials, equipment, and services across construction projects in various market sectors. This role involves managing vendor relationships, conducting market analysis to secure competitive pricing, and ensuring compliance with company standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with architectural, preconstruction, and project teams to support successful project execution.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement effective procurement strategies for electrical materials and services in coordination with internalIdentify and pursue new procurement and revenue opportunities to support companyEvaluate and mitigate risks by partnering with reliable, high-quality vendors andOversee daily operations of the electrical procurement team, ensuring efficiency andReview and validate electrical contractors’ bills of materials and labor bids for completeness andAnalyze and compare vendor quotes to ensure cost-effective purchasingPerform material takeoffs, cost estimates, and pricing for current and upcomingCollect, review, and submit product submittals in accordance with projectPrepare detailed product lists and quantities for purchase orders and changeNegotiate terms, track orders, and ensure timely delivery of materials as per projectApprove and monitor invoices to ensure alignment with procurementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key external partners to support the delivery of Freedom Source materialsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field; Electrical Engineering degree strongly10+ years of experience with an electrical contractor or general contractor, ideally in a procurement or project management role.Demonstrated expertise in electrical procurement or a closely related discipline within the construction industry.Strong skills in negotiation, data analysis, and organizationalProven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-pacedExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative and team-orientedFamiliarity with construction project workflows and procurement software is highlyAdaptable and responsive to changes in industry trends, market conditions, and projectSelf-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Candidate must possess Suffolk’s Core Values: Passion, Integrity, Hard Work, Professionalism and CaringWorking ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing.
