Rocket Component Production EngineerRequired Skills & Experience• Bachelor's degree in Engineering OR 5+ years of experience in a machine shop environment performing the responsibilities listed above. • Experience with CAD software such as: PTC Creo CATIA Autodesk Inventor SolidWorks NX • Experience applying International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards. • Ability to design 3D CAD models and create engineering drawings. • Strong passion for creating, building, and bringing products to life. • Advanced understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) per ASME Y14.5 standards.Nice to Have Skills & Experience• Direct experience with product development in one or more of the following: Castings Forgings Metal 3D Printing / Additive Manufacturing Sheet Metal • Background in scheduling and production planning. • CNC programming experience. • Tooling experience. • Experience setting up and operating CNC machines. • Data analysis skills. • Startup company experience. • Aerospace industry experience.Job DescriptionAs part of a small, fast-paced, and passionate team, you will play a critical role in rocket component production. This position serves as the bridge between engineering and manufacturing, driving design feedback, production improvements, and communication between teams. The quality of your work will directly impact the success of individual components and assemblies throughout the manufacturing process. Responsibilities include: acting as the liaison between the machine shop and engineering teams, providing feedback to responsible engineers and ensuring the most time-efficient and cost-effective manufacturing methods are utilized, ensuring timely delivery of rocket components and assemblies ready for testing, researching and implementing new manufacturing methods and production-related processes, partnering with the design team to improve manufacturability and durability of components, managing look-ahead planning for long lead-time tasks, driving process improvement initiatives and reducing cycle times, implementing quick-changeover and efficiency improvements, taking ownership and accountability for hardware production, creating work instructions and manufacturing documentation, identifying production issues and working with Quality to develop and execute corrective actions, collaborating with Tooling and Programming teams to ensure production readiness, and supporting conceptual design and sourcing of work-holding solutions.
