Position Summary
The Quality 2 Qualified Sampler is responsible for verifying and sampling incoming and outgoing shipments according to industry standards and regulatory requirements. This position ensures compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory programs through product sampling, inspections, testing requests, recordkeeping, and verification activities. The Quality 2 Qualified Sampler must comply with GMP, HACCP, food defense, allergen control, hygienic zoning, food safety requirements, and all company safety policies while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting audit readiness.
Essential Functions
• Collect product samples in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including probing bins and totes.
• Collect aseptic samples for microbiological analysis when required.
• Follow established sampling and sample preparation programs.
• Perform PEAR Program and Non-PEAR export sampling for mycotoxin testing.
• Accurately record lot numbers and sampled license plates for audit compliance.
• Mix, divide, control, and prepare mycotoxin samples for laboratory delivery.
• Provide USDA representative samples for quality inspections.
• Grade products from production lines accurately and timely.
• Perform incoming and outgoing shipment inspections and verifications.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing products and packaging for deficiencies and risks.
• Record inspection results and quality data accurately on paper and electronic forms.
• Complete laboratory testing requests for microbiological and chemical analysis.
• Verify food safety compliance of products and packaging materials.
• Inspect cartons, liners, films, and pallets for defects affecting quality or food safety.
• Verify quality, legality, and safety of incoming products and ingredients.
• Perform product cost analysis.
• Conduct daily inspections and report non-conformances.
• Maintain clean work areas and housekeeping standards.
• Report product quality concerns to production operators, Quality 3 personnel, and supervisors.
• Report safety concerns and hazardous conditions to management.
• Adhere to all GMP, HACCP, food safety, and company safety requirements.
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as needed.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Advanced reading and writing abilities required.
• Strong math and report-writing skills required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Food manufacturing, food safety, quality assurance, or sampling experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
• Ability to generate reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Ability to follow complex written and verbal procedures.

Work Environment
• Food manufacturing and pistachio processing facility.
• Exposure to dirt, dust, noise, temperature fluctuations, heights, and workplace hazards.
• Exposure to food ingredients, packaging materials, and production equipment.
• Indoor and outdoor work environments.
• Frequent interaction with production personnel, warehouse staff, USDA representatives, auditors, laboratory personnel, and management.
• Must comply with GMP, HACCP, food defense, allergen control, hygienic zoning, food safety, PPE, and company safety requirements.
