API Developer

IDR is seeking a API Developer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role involves supporting API development and maintenance within a DevOps team, primarily focusing on supporting technology initiatives through software development and documentation. Position Overview for the API Developer: Support API development and integration for government applications using Java and RESTful services. Contribute to Jira documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. Work with Redhat/OpenShift, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Tekton to manage deployment pipelines. Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and non-technical audiences regarding project statuses and technical concepts. Work onsite as needed in Nashville, Tennessee, while maintaining a hybrid remote-work schedule. Requirements for the API Developer: Experience with Java, RDBMS, Maven, Jenkins or Tekton, and RESTful APIs. Knowledge of Redhat/OpenShift, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows. Strong understanding of software development processes and Agile methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
