Software Engineer

Commercial Programming Systems, Inc. We are currently searching for a Software Engineer – Java/Python to support our client in Tucson, AZ. This is an on-site position. Employment Type: Full-Time W-2 or Contract. Compensation: Open to Negotiation. An active and transferable U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance is required. Position Summary The Software Engineer will design, develop, and integrate object‑oriented software applications while working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team. This position requires experience with Java, Python, and Windows‑based development environments, along with the ability to troubleshoot software and hardware interfaces and support the full software development lifecycle. Responsibilities Design, develop, and integrate object‑oriented software applications using Java and Python. Prioritize and manage multiple software engineering tasks concurrently. Troubleshoot software applications and test equipment instrumentation. Work within a multidisciplinary engineering team. Develop and derive software requirements. Utilize Microsoft Visual Studio and debugging tools to develop and troubleshoot software. Support software development throughout the full software development life cycle. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field. Active and transferable U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance. Experience developing software using Java and Python. Experience with C++, C#, or Visual Basic is a plus. Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating System and Microsoft Visual Studio. Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware optimization techniques. Knowledge of software drivers and computer hardware interfaces. Knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP communication protocols. Knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML). Understanding of Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies. Knowledge of Software Configuration Management principles. Commercial Programming Systems, Inc.
