Senior Manager Operations II Summary: The Senior Manager Operations II manages operations and personnel for approximately 601+ truck units across one or more locations. They oversee Operations Managers, Operations Supervisors, Technicians‑In‑Charge, Customer Service Coordinators, Parts Responsible Persons, and Administrative Assistants. The role requires effective delegation, team management, balancing financial targets with customer needs, and ensuring compliance with company processes. Essential Functions Operations Management: Oversee work analysis, vehicle planning and scheduling, assignment to technicians, productivity tracking, shift and shop meetings, and RO review and approval. Perform strategic labor planning to optimize resources and shift patterns. Labor Management: Lead and develop a self‑directed management team, responsible for performance management, training, staff recruitment, on‑boarding, payroll, and succession planning. Customer Management: Maintain customer relationships, resolve issues, optimize vehicle maintenance cycle time, partner with Sales, conduct customer visits, and ensure customer satisfaction and retention. Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, implement cost‑control measures, oversee payroll, purchase orders, invoicing, and the maintenance bill‑back process. Asset Management: Maintain shop appearance, enforce 6S standards, manage tool and equipment, oversee vehicle specifications, and coordinate parts inventory. Quality Management: Plan and execute quality improvements, oversee inspections, root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Optimize labor, financial, quality, operating, safety and asset processes and metrics. Associate or bachelor’s degree (preferred). Minimum 3 years supervisory experience. Minimum 4 years experience in an operations environment or proven success within Ryder. Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency. Experience with fleet management software (preferred). Experience with strategic labor, financial, operating, quality, safety, and asset processes. Maintenance and technical experience in a shop environment (preferred). Travel Yes, 1–10%. Job Category Maintenance. Compensation Information Salary: $97,000 – $100,000 per year (salaried). Bonus eligible.
