Registered Nurse (RN) - Float PoolJoin our dedicated team as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Float Pool. This position primarily focuses on providing exceptional care in various units, including ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU. The Float Pool RN will work in a dynamic environment, adapting to different unit needs and caring for a range of patient cases.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-quality nursing care to patients in multiple units, including ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU.Monitor vital signs and patient conditions, and manage specific care protocols.Administer medications and perform treatments as directed.Titrate and manage intravenous drips, ensuring patient stability and comfort.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.Assist in the education and support of patients and families regarding care plans.RequirementsMinimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an ICU setting.Current ACLS and BLS certifications.Ability to pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts, achieving at least an 80% score.Must be flexible and willing to float to various units as needed.Self-motivated team player with strong communication skills.Work ScheduleThis position requires a commitment to work a minimum of 36 hours per week with a 12-hour shift length. The float pool RN will rotate every other weekend and must be available to work at least two of the three major holidays each year. Scheduled shifts will primarily be 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM.Unit InformationNurse-to-patient ratios: PCU: 1:4MedSurg Tele: 1:5-6Common patient diagnoses include geriatric and orthopedic conditions, with a focus on post-procedural care such as post cardiac catheterization and CABG recovery.Nursing assistants are available to support nursing staff across all units.Additional InformationOrientation includes an 8-hour general hospital introduction followed by practical training in assigned units.This position may include standby requirements in cases of staff excess during shifts.Nurses will receive notifications regarding unit assignments two hours before their scheduled shifts.Professional scrubs are required, transitioning to a solid navy color per upcoming guidelines.LocationThis role encompasses multiple locations within the region, providing diverse work experiences across various patient care settings.If you are passionate about nursing and excited to take on new challenges in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply!
