Graphic DesignerThe Graphic Designer is responsible for supporting the mission and strategy of College Park Church through creative and effective contributions to Communication Team projects. This is accomplished through developing graphics, layout, and publications for various church ministries, events, and worship service elements.This role primarily involves developing effective and compelling graphic design for digital, web, and print applications that is consistent with College Park’s visual standards. This role includes being a resource to help staff and volunteer ministry leaders communicate effectively through consultive collaboration. Additionally, this role works directly with graphic design contractors by providing them with individual assignments, timelines, files, and counsel and being a liaison for contractors and other Communication Team members.Reports to: Director of CommunicationResponsibilities:Manage and execute graphic design projects for major ministry and event communications, as prioritized by the Director and Assistant Director of Communication, including but not limited to:Designing and editing graphics, photography, logos, and layouts for publications and other materialsManaging day-to-day design project tasks and cross-team collaborationCoordinating and delivering finished communication pieces on scheduleProviding art direction and feedback to contract designers to ensure deliverables meet brand and quality standardsReviewing designs to confirm alignment with College Park Church visual brand standardsManaging multiple concurrent design projects to ensure agreed-upon deadlines are metProviding graphic design support for Sunday morning worship services as neededUsing the Communication Team's project management and planning tools to track tasks, manage deadlines, and collaborate with team membersParticipating in weekly design team meetingsUpdating and providing website digital content and graphicsHandling general administrative responsibilities, including email, meetings, and other routine staff activitiesPerforming other duties as assigned by the Director of CommunicationEducation & Skill Requirements:Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field; minimum of four years' professional graphic design experience preferredProficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Proven ability to manage a high volume of tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment, with proactive communication with stakeholders and team members throughout each projectStrong time-management skills, with the ability to accurately scope project timelines and consistently meet deadlinesProficient with web-based tools for file sharing, calendaring, and project managementAbility to delegate assignments to contract designers and provide timely, constructive feedback and supportWorking knowledge of current trends in marketing, design, social media, and emerging design technologiesPortfolio demonstrating design range, production quality, and adherence to brand guidelines requiredPassion, Calling & Spiritual Development:Passionate about the mission, strategy, and core values of College Park ChurchSenses a call to serve in vocational ministry and can articulate the reasonsDemonstrates a stable, mature Christian walk (1 Timothy qualified), exhibiting an authentic love for Jesus, fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23), and compassion toward othersShows high-level interest in graphic design and keeping up with the latest trends in the fields of design and marketingExhibits a positive attitude and collaborative spiritDemonstrates an ability to build trust with others through consistent dependability in words and actionsAble to communicate and receive constructive feedback in a gracious mannerWilling to become a member of College Park Church and work under the direction of the Elders and Directional TeamWork ScheduleThis is a full-time, exempt role totaling approximately 40+ hours weekly, Monday-Friday. Must be willing to occasionally work some irregular hours including Sunday morningsAttendance at staff meetings and other staff functions required.
