Unit Notes
ASANTE ITEMS OF NOTE:
- Local Radius: Client does not accept local candidates and has a 50-mile radius restriction.
- Call Off Policy: Client may call off or cancel up to 24 hours per 13 weeks.
- Non-Billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours of non-billable orientation for first work week. Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.
- Licensure: Non-Oregon Licensed RNs can apply and be eligible for a 90-day temporary license if their permanent license is not posted before the start of their assignment.

Department: MedSurg Inpatient Rehab | RN

- # of beds: 15 (13 single rooms and 1 double room).
- Ratios: Typically 5 patients.
- Required Certifications: BLS
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Inpatient Rehabilitation Services. We care for patients that
go through life changing events such as surgeries, strokes, multi-trauma, and provide intense
rehab/nursing collective strategies to improve functional gain and get people as close to if not
better than their baseline function.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab Nursing preferred, but not required.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes (occasionally)
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Mainly we deal with Antibiotics if we have IV drips, which
don't require titration. Sometimes we may have a heparin drip that have orders to titrate according
to lab results, blood infusions, and occasionally IVIG.
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes, charge RN often take a modified assignment of 2-3, but may take
a full assignment similar to other bedside RNs if required by circumstances.
- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: We staff for 2 CNAs, so ratios are 1:7 days, 1:11 NOC, often leaving 1-2 total patient cares (TPC) for nurses.
- RT Equipment: Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?: No tele on the unit.
- Shifts & Scheduling: management provides the scheduling, No block schedule, No Patterns
- Rehab Physician: Rehab provider/PA on available during dayshift hours Monday - Friday, and 2 weekends/month. Sometimes
hospitalist will provide on-call services for the weekend. There is a provider available via secure messaging or phone at night.
- Weekend Requirements: yes (24/7 coverage same as other units)
- Holiday Requirements: yes (365 days/yr coverage same as other units)
- Is there call or a standby requirement?: N/A
- Floating Requirements?: Yes, If they are overstaffed for the shift, travelers will be required to float
to the inpatient setting.
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color of professional scrubs.
- Additional Notes: Very strong teamwork culture within the unit. Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, moving of 50+lbs throughout each 12hr shift. One of the most desired places to
work because of the pace, positive atmosphere, great teamwork, and leadership.
