Job Title Scientist Location Thousand Oaks, California (On-Site) Job Summary We are representing a company seeking a skilled scientist to support protein characterization and analytical research across early discovery through later-stage molecule optimization. This position plays an important role in generating high-quality mass spectrometry data that helps inform project teams and advance scientific programs. Responsibilities Conduct protein, peptide, and glycan analysis and characterization using mass spectrometry techniques, including RPLC-MS, RPLC-MS/MS, native-MS, and related analytical methods. Perform auto-digestion and peptide mapping to support protein characterization and sequence analysis. Generate, process, and interpret mass spectrometry data sets, then prepare reports to communicate results to project teams. Support scientific and technical work across discovery research, molecule optimization, and late-stage selection activities. Required Doctorate degree, or Master’s degree with 2 years of biopharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of biopharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent experience. Experience using analytical characterization techniques such as RPLC-MS for intact protein, reduced and subunit protein mass analysis. Experience with protein digestion and RPLC-MS/MS to map protein sequence and characterize post translational modifications such as deamidation, isomerization, and oxidation, with associated data processing. Experience generating, processing, and using large LC-MS analytical data sets, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
