Care teams are responsible for delivering excellent and compassionate primary care and coordinating the care of our members with the broader healthcare delivery system. The Medical Assistant (MA) is a critical role to support the PCP day-to-day and ensure efficiency in the care provided to patients. MAs will work closely and collaboratively with their teammates to greet and room ArchWell Health members. S/he will be expected to assist in assessing patients health conditions, including performing routine diagnostic testing during appointments./ppDuties/Responsibilities:/pulliConduct intake with patients, measuring and recording vital signs, patient interview, and medical history; perform examinations and routine screenings, ensuring patients are informed and all questions and concerns are addressed for each procedure/liliCritically listen and engage with patients throughout appointment, ensuring needs and/or changing in patient conditions are reported to PCP, specialists, and/or other clinical personnel/liliPerform all tasks with a hyper focus on patient experience, including processing of patient phone messages, including: returning calls; routing calls to other team members as appropriate; calling patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician/liliChange dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures and other first aid procedures; use CPR skills when necessary, all under physician supervision/liliEnsure compliance with OSHA safety standards and conduct accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times/liliProvide health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices; follows up with coached patients via weekly calls/li/ulpRequired Skills/Abilities:/pulliMust possess a high degree of emotional intelligence and integrity, driven and focused work ethic/liliSelf-starter with the ability to think creatively and work effectively/liliAbility to work effectively with various seniorities and diverse populations including staff, providers, members, family members, insurance carriers, vendors and market leadership/liliStrong communicator that is customer-oriented/liliExcellent critical reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to analyze situations, determine risks, and find solutions to prevent future issues and resolve recurring defects/liliExperience with claims/quality reports and analytical software packages/liliProficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel plus a variety of other word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail and presentation software/liliAbility to travel on occasion for company meetings/li/ulpEducation and Experience:/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required/liliMust be bilingual (insert language need) and able to pass formal proficiency exam as part of the selection process/liliA minimum of 1 year work experience as a Medical Assistant/lili6+ months phlebotomy experience is highly desired/liliGraduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR comparable healthcare vocational training (i.e. foreign-trained physician, paramedic, etc.) required/liliBLS for Healthcare Providers required/liliEClinicalWorks or similar EMR experience/liliExperience working with geriatric patients is a plus/liliEmbodies and serves as a role model of ArchWell Healths Values:/liulliBe compassionate/liliStrive for excellence/liliEarn trust/liliShow respect/liliStay resilient/liliAlways do the right thing/li/ul/ulpAt ArchWell Health, were creating a community of caring designed to help our members stay healthy and engaged.
