Review scope of work with General Contractor pre/post bid and hardware/HMF manufacturer combo packages to determine most competitive position. Perform labor cost interpretation based on scope of work. Receive construction plans, drawings, and specifications, check for completeness, and note bid deadlines and any special requirements. Organize approach to project by deciding how to separate major project portions and identify typical opening or hardware sets; note construction schedules, if applicable. Interpret construction specifications; discuss interpretations with team salesperson, customers, or architect when necessary. Read building plans and identify applicable portions with Cook & Boardman involvement. Summarize door opening and other applicable portions of plans by type. Compare actual and estimated materials upon completion of each project. Enter applicable information into Comsense system and price jobs based on computer cost files. Responsible for complete door and hardware takeoffs and costing all parts and scope of work. Perform all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 3‑5 years of related experience in similar construction or building‑material industry. Proficient with accurate mathematical skills. Must pass pre‑employment background check and drug screen. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Blueprint/plan reading and specification interpretation. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of door, frame and hardware applications as they relate to UL, fire code, building code, ADA, life safety and other restrictions relevant to commercial construction. Excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills. Detail oriented, deadline conscious, goal driven, and able to handle all types of project scopes. The role frequently involves sitting, walking, standing, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with arms and hands. Work Environment This position operates primarily in a professional office environment. It routinely involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, and filing systems. Occasional business travel may be required.
