Mechanical Engineering Lead – Wearable Technology We are working with an innovative technology company at the forefront of wearable devices, seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead to drive the development of next-generation products. Our client is a rapidly growing company dedicated to pushing the boundaries of personal technology through high-performance, user-centric design. Who We Are Looking For: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Lead to take ownership of mechanical design and development for cutting-edge wearable technology. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with electrical engineers, industrial designers, and product managers to bring innovative ideas to life. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers, guiding them through the entire product development cycle—from concept to mass production. What You’ll Be Doing: Leading the mechanical design, prototyping, and testing of wearable devices. Developing and refining mechanical components for manufacturability, reliability, and user comfort. Collaborating closely with electrical, firmware, and design teams to ensure seamless integration. Overseeing material selection, thermal management, and structural integrity of products. Managing relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective production. Driving the transition from prototype to mass production, ensuring efficiency and scalability. Mentoring and leading a team of mechanical engineers, fostering innovation and technical excellence. Staying up to date with advancements in wearable technology and mechanical engineering best practices. What You Bring: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on wearable technology and consumer electronics. Hands-on experience working with contract manufacturers and managing production processes. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar). Strong knowledge of materials science, injection molding, and precision manufacturing techniques. Experience with DFMA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly) principles. Practical experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and machining. Familiarity with thermal management, waterproofing, and ergonomics in product design. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. A proven track record of leadership, with a passion for mentoring and developing a team.
