Job Responsibilities and Requirements PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Contributes to the assessment of patients and ensures the well-being of patients. Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments. Performs laboratory tests and therapeutic services. Educates patients/families about disease treatment plans including self-care post-discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow-up care. Documents the provider’s encounter with patients, lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, discharge/follow-up instructions and prescriptions as indicated by the provider. Transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications; completes patient charts by transcribing results of labs, x-rays, or other evaluations. Continuously checks data availability for orders to ensure the patient’s workup is complete so the provider can make treatment decisions. Transcribes consultations or discussions with family and/or the patient’s private physician or on-call physician as needed. Works in a constant state of alertness and safety. Performs other duties as assigned. Education : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing Experience : No experience required Physical Requirements Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication; constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0–25 lbs. Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far; color recognition. Frequent use of smell and hearing to detect odors and hear alarms or equipment. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25–50 lbs. Occasional lifting/moving of patients; occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive movements. Occasional driving; rare crawling and running.
