Job Objective: The Director Data Strategy & Insights is responsible for leading the collection, integration and output of data collected from member airlines and other public sources to provide cohesive, actionable outputs to alliance stakeholders. Supporting the senior leadership team, this role ensures relevant, scalable, consistent and reliable reporting and related insights are available to support both the one world Management (oMC) team and relevant airline stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Data Strategy, Governance and Platforms Develop and maintain strategy for the centralized collection of data serving the alliance including but not limited to core alliance data, member airline performance data, etc. Establish data quality, governance and stewardship standards to ensure alliance reporting is accurate, consistent, secure and trusted Leveraging prior experience, lead the structuring of a data platform (e.g., AWS or similar) which seamlessly integrates our data sources to provide the next-generation of insights and performance data. Recommend industry-leading products and partners in coordination with Legal, IT and Finance. Maintain policies on data collection, retention and use, in partnership with our IT, Cyber Security and Legal team Reporting, Analytics and Insights Manage, coordinate and execute on oMC’s performance reporting portfolio, developing effective and sustainable delivery methods and including integrated business intelligence tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc. Support preparation and tracking of company key metrics and deliverables, coordinate with management for status, risk identification and mitigation Preparation of board reporting in respect of company and alliance metrics and value drivers Support membership analytics and insights for both existing and prospective members Monitor and proactively report on industry performance and trends, particularly as it applies to one world member airlines, publicly available competitive insights Stay up to date on emerging data and reporting trends and best practices Other Manage a team of Reporting & Data Insights Analysts responsible for preparing company reporting and data analysis through a business partnering framework with company senior executives. Project manage work requests from across the business, prioritizing tasks and keeping stakeholders informed Support alliance senior leaders on evaluation of key alliance initiatives to build a return analysis for alliance projects. Track performance post-delivery via data-led insights. Own the company’s internal intranet resources, ensuring it is accurately maintained and supported by a reliable audit framework. Support one world’s Data Privacy Officer and Legal team to ensure data is maintained securely and in compliance with global data privacy regulations Desirable Qualifications: 10+ years' experience in Data Engineering/Data Science, Business Intelligence, Reporting system design Bachelor’s degree (Master's degree in Data Science/ Aviation Management will be favorably considered) Demonstrated understanding of building and managing sets of complex data via platforms such as AWS while being acutely aware of privacy considerations. Comfortably and confidently flag potential risks and recommend mitigations with the company Data Privacy Officer Experience using network modeling “QSI” tools and other schedule and network planning platforms preferred Prior airline experience in Planning, Scheduling, Revenue Management or Research departments is an asset Proven quantitative analysis and modelling skills Experience managing SQL services and business intelligence tools such as Tableau and PowerBI A high degree of organization, project management and time management skills. The ability to drive a team to meet delivery deadlines while proactively identifying and acting on any risks to delivery Strategic thinking with the capability or simplifying and communicating complex concepts and situations Proven experience supporting C-level executives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment Strong written and verbal communication skills High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across cultures and functions Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to travel as needed (approximately 5%) one world offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation. one world is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
