This OpportunityWSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Electrical Engineer for our New York City, NY team. We work closely with architects and owners from around the world on large, complex projects with a focus on sustainability and energy performance of the built environment. Our Engineers work on high quality, high-profile, national and international projects. You will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out. WSP offers excellent growth opportunities.Your ImpactPrepare basic deliverables and products including calculations, drawings, and specificationsOversees all aspects of projectsSets deadlines and assigns responsibilitiesExamine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projectsDesign building electrical systems including power, lighting, communication, security systems and fire alarm while adhering to the firm’s QA/QC processDevelop project specificationsAttend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future and or current projectsResponsible for meeting the client’s project goals and objectives Assist in business development by pursuing new work including participation in client presentationsAssist in the firm’s human resource efforts through training and mentoring junior firm membersEnhances the firm’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing internal and external client requestsDemonstrates core values and serves as a role model/mentor to all firm membersUpdates job knowledge and technical expertise by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in technical organizations and obtaining certifications in area of expertise and participating in the firm’s Technical Committee as requestedPerform other duties as assignedWho You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.5-7 years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for large capital projects.Knowledge of both low voltage and medium voltage electrical systems design and constructionComprehensive knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standardsStrong organizational, prioritization, decision making and analytical skillsExperience in construction administration and technical field assistance.Possess strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasive and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environmentAbility to consistently set goals and meet deadlines and adapt to flexible responsibilitiesWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit softwareWorking understanding of SKM and ETAP electrical studies softwareProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Experience with Horizon or Project Resource Management software is preferredAbility to meet and exceed client expectationsPreferred Qualifications PE license is preferredLEED Certification is preferredCertifications in areas of expertise are preferredWSP BenefitsWSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
