Responsibilities Primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population. Organize and conduct occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation. Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel as required. Maintain adherence to department and patient treatment schedules, documentation, and meetings. Attend patient care, staffing, and related conferences. Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address comprehensive patient needs. Consult with the rehabilitation team, including the community physician, to select appropriate therapeutic regimens. Adapt program and/or plan of care based on individual patient needs. Promote a safe environment and enforce elimination of fire and safety hazards. Order supplies and equipment as necessary; clean, maintain, and report equipment issues. Put patients and families first: ensure highest quality of service in a caring, compassionate atmosphere. Screen, examine, evaluate patients and design treatment plans, applying therapeutic techniques in areas such as: cognitive skills muscle strength coordination endurance mobility perceptual abilities sensory awareness sitting and standing tolerance balance activities of daily living joint protection work simplification orientation physical agent modalities low vision falls risk management medication management health and wellness community integration and reintegration Case Management skills in the home and community space Design, fabricate, fit, and apply adaptive devices; train patients in use. Select appropriate activities suited to individual physical and mental capacity, intelligence level, and interest. Instruct patients in skills and techniques for functional activities; evaluate progress, attitudes, and behavior. Perform routine reexamination as needed to modify/progress treatment plan. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards. Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice. Valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patient's residence. Posted Salary Range USD $63.00 - USD $63.00 /Hr. #J-18808-Ljbffr
