Caregiver

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Habilitation Provider/Attending Care Provider/ Respite Provider to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. As a Provider, you will play a crucial role in delivering supportive services that promote independence and improve quality of life for clients in both home and community settings. Responsibilities Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in daily living activities (ADLs) to foster independence. Implement individualized habilitation plans that focus on skill development, behavioral management, and social integration. Utilize effective communication skills to engage with clients and their families, ensuring clear understanding of goals and progress. Assist clients in navigating community resources and activities, promoting inclusion and participation in social events. Collect and document data on client progress, behaviors, and needs to inform ongoing support strategies. Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to safety protocols and regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including social workers and behavioral health professionals, to deliver comprehensive care. Maintain a safe and supportive environment that encourages positive behavior and personal growth. Experience Previous experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism is essential. Background in special education or related fields is highly desirable. Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) is an asset for effective communication with clients who are non‑verbal or have hearing impairments. Experience in behavior management techniques and strategies is preferred. Proven ability to provide home and community care while assisting clients with daily living tasks. Strong caregiving skills combined with the ability to drive clients safely to various locations as needed. Proficiency in data collection methods relevant to client support and progress tracking. A degree or certification in social work, special education, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
