Job Description Schedule: PRN, Varied Shift: Variable days available for pickup Clinic hours: Days, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm, No Weekend, No Holiday, No Call Location: 9100 W 74TH ST, Shawnee Mission, 66204 Responsibilities Actively participates in departmental quality improvement activities, including patient-centered quality management measures and departmental initiatives. Leads a care team as a clinic case manager, providing clear instructions to team members and delegating tasks appropriately. Accepts accountability for staff time management in the assigned clinic, allowing staff to leave at the direction of the case manager. Utilizes efficient and effective communication with all team members to ensure well-organized quality care. Ensures education and instructions are clear to minimize follow-up calls and inquiries. Provides appropriate care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with difficult or chronic wounds, including detailed wound assessments and documentation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to communicate professionally with an acceptable use of English and spelling. Ability to use electronic documentation. Competency in sharp debridement skills within 3 months of hire. Computer skills in Microsoft Office and adaptability to new software programs. Non-routine work environment requiring independent judgment, self-motivation, multi-tasking, persistence, and efficient time management. Empathy and compassion. Effective verbal and written communication. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Astute observation skills. Ability to follow set rules and protocols. Time management and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and physicians. Good organization, delegation, and communication skills to facilitate efficient patient care. Strong demonstrated ability in assessment, analytical decision making, and critical thinking. Leadership ability and coordination skills. Familiarity with a variety of patient care equipment and products. Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures. Ability to work as a team player within a unit. Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills. EKG (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements). Must be 18 years of age or older.
