Welder FabricatorHarrisburg Engineering Center (HPEC) - Harrisburg, PA 17111Salary Range $24.00 - $35.00 Hourly Job Shift First ShiftDescriptionThe Welder Fabricator is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal parts and structures by applying various welding techniques and fabrication skills, often following blueprints and specifications.Essential Duties And/Or Responsibilities:Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: Understanding technical drawings and specifications to determine the best fabrication methods.Material Selection and Preparation: Choosing appropriate materials, such as sheet metal or steel, and preparing them for fabrication.Cutting, Shaping, and Welding: Using various tools and techniques to cut, shape, and weld metal pieces according to specifications.Quality Control: Inspecting welds and finished products for accuracy and adherence to standards.Tool and Equipment Operation: Operating hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.Problem Solving: Troubleshooting issues and identifying areas for process improvement.QualificationsEducation And/Or Experience: 1. Must have a firm understanding of the fabrication process. 2. AWS Welding Certification, or similar industry certifications (desired but not required).3. Minimum of 2 years' experience with fabrication/welding 4. High school diploma or equivalent.Work Environment 1. The employee in this role will primarily be working in a temperature-controlled environment. 2. Occasional outside work may be required. 3. May be exposed to noise levels that will require hearing protection. Requirements:Ability to lift 50 pounds.Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.Meticulous attention to detail.Maintain a safe and clean workspace.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
