Work Location This is a fully remote position. Candidates must reside in the Twin Cities, Twin Ports, or surrounding areas. Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, team events, and other business-related needs. What You’ll Do As a Commercial Credit Analyst, you’ll work closely with lenders to evaluate commercial credit requests, assess risk, and provide clear, accurate analysis that supports thoughtful lending decisions. Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow reports, and credit reports to assess the strength of commercial credit requests Perform detailed commercial credit analysis to determine alignment with credit union lending policies and risk standards Prepare clear, thorough, and concise credit presentations and recommendations for lending decisions Monitor loan collateral, valuations, inspections, and covenant compliance Support lenders with portfolio management and ongoing credit monitoring Prepare and maintain reports related to borrowers' financial performance and credit obligations Collect, review, and organize financial information from business members Update and maintain credit and loan systems with accurate data entry and reporting Assist with problem loan administration and special projects as needed Represent SCCU's mission of improving the financial well‑being of our members What Makes You a Great Fit? You’re dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with lenders, members, and internal teams. Minimum of 2 years of commercial credit analysis experience required Experience in commercial credit analysis, commercial underwriting, commercial lending, business banking, or a related field Strong understanding of commercial financial statements, tax returns, cash flow analysis, debt service coverage, and credit risk assessment Experience with Sageworks is strongly preferred Must reside in the Twin Cities, Twin Ports, or surrounding areas and be able to travel occasionally as needed Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and professionally Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Proficient with Microsoft Office and financial analysis software Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with lenders and team members Bonus Points If You: Have experience working with commercial or business lending portfolios Are skilled at identifying potential risks and offering proactive solutions Enjoy building relationships with internal teams and supporting lenders Thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are exactly the same What Success Looks Like: Accurate, thorough credit analysis that supports strong lending decisions Well-prepared credit presentations that clearly communicate risk and opportunity Timely and compliant reporting on credit activity and loan performance Strong collaboration with lenders and internal partners Maintaining high standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and service Why SCCU?
