Summary

You will serve as an Unmanned Vehicle Technology Specialist in the San Diego Unmanned Vehicle Operations Site of the Fleet Undersea Warfare Readiness and Surveillance Systems Division in the Undersea Warfare and Surveillance Systems of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.

This position is equivalent to the GS-09/11 level. The full performance level is equivalent to the GS-12/13 level.

Duties

Help

• You will provide full spectrum maintenance and troubleshooting of unmanned underwater vehicles and associated support equipment to support Fleet training and operations.
• You will perform equipment modifications to extend equipment capabilities to meet specific requirements.
• You will assist in resolving unexpected technical problems associated with data collection, equipment performance/calibration or other unanticipated technical difficulties in executing test or experimental programs.
• You will be operating weight handling equipment, forklifts and gantries.
• You will drive large capacity stake bed truck to/from maintenance facility to/from SoCal Tactical Training Range.

• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9/10 grade level or NT-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in the assembly or disassembly process of electro-mechanical systems for an organization.

Successful completion of at least two full academic years of education above undergraduate level if related to the duties of the position.

OR

A combination of experience and post undergraduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
