Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) ensures the delivery of quality care by adhering to the nursing care plan and supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. The RN is a vital member of the healthcare team, committed to maintaining patient and employee safety while delivering high-quality services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and deliver direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to care providers for continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel while organizing and prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Foster a safe work environment by adhering to hospital policies and procedures related to personal and environmental safety.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and contribute positively to team dynamics.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
