TheLevel IIINeonatal Intensive Care Unit(NICU) at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham is a 32-bed open bay unit where weprovide advanced treatmentforthesmallestand mostvulnerablepatientswith a range ofinfantcomplications, including prematurity, respiratory distress, neonatal sepsis, neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS),andbirthinjuries.With a dedicated team of board-certifiedneonatologistsand experienced neonatal nurse practitioners, we work closely with the UAB Women & Infants Center and Children’s of Alabama to deliver expert care. Nurses on this unit get a rewarding experience wheretheycanofferempathy, parental education, and support ina compassionate environment for neonatal care. What You Will Do Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. ACLS obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. PALS obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire. Additional Preferences Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program preferred.
