Math Teacher - High School

Overview Chaminade College Preparatory seeks a dynamic, innovative, and engaging MATHEMATICS TEACHER for our high school campus (grades 9-12) in West Hills, California. This is a full-time, in-person position starting August 2026. Responsibilities Teaches five sections, with courses ranging from Algebra 1 to Calculus. Under the supervision of the vice principals, delivers standards-based curriculum (California state and Archdiocesan). Plans lessons in a timely manner; provides feedback and grades on assignments; maintains grades, attendance, and other school records; and communicates with students, families, and counselors when students need support. Collaborates with department members to evaluate, monitor, and update curriculum, assessment, and pacing guides under the guidance of the Department Chair. Ensures instructional strategies respect students\' diverse social identities while aligning with Catholic Marianist values and the school\'s mission. Integrates technology through Blackboard LMS, EdTech apps such as ALEKS, MathXL, MyMathLab, DeltaMath, Desmos, AP Classroom, and other tools; students use school-issued devices. Keeps abreast of new trends and developments in mathematics, instructional strategies, and assessment. Participates in campus life events, including supervision, lunch activities, liturgies, and assemblies. Qualifications Passion for teaching mathematics at the secondary level; skilled with high-school aged students. Bachelor's degree in the subject discipline required; teaching credential and/or Master\'s degree preferred. Prior Math teaching experience, especially in a Catholic educational setting, preferred; relevant experience considered. Ability to deliver instruction on campus, via remote learning, and/or in a hybrid model. Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion of all school stakeholders.
