Job Details Location: KC‑135, RICKENBACKER - Columbus, OH 43217 Position Type: Part Time Education Level: Bachelor’s degree or Relative Experience Travel Percentage: Negligible Job Shift: Any Job Description Provide KC‑135 Aircraft Systems/operational procedures instruction in aircraft, classroom, simulator, and practical environments. Assist as Subject Matter Expert in development of curriculum for new type courses as required. Provide additional special services such as courseware review and other administrative duties (publications, safety, quality audits, FCIF, scheduling, and other duties as may be assigned). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instruction of KC‑135 Pilot procedures in aircraft, classroom, and simulator. Training for Visual Threat Recognition Avoidance Training (VTRAT) and Crew Resource Management (CRM). Act as a Lesson Subject Matter Expert to review or change lessons and suggest improvements to training policies and procedures. Promote a positive learning attitude and embrace new technologies and tasks. Conduct ground training for crewmembers, diagnosing and remediating student issues. Assist with project and development work as assigned. Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, record keeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, quality assurance, safety, security, and maintenance of training programs and equipment. Provide physical instruction in simulator and classrooms for up to six hours each day; maintain proficiency with essential KC‑135 Aircrew Training Devices. Must be physically able to enter and operate simulator equipment and stand for instruction for extended periods. Maintain instrument, take‑off, landing, and emergency procedure proficiency. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None Security Responsibilities Compliance with all company Information Systems security policies. Proper classification and marking of all information and materials produced. Execute company non‑disclosure agreement prior to access to controlled information. Physical Demands Domestic and international travel as required. Walk, climb stairs, ladder into simulator or cockpit; stoop, bend, and crawl on or under machinery. Detect odors or noises indicative of simulator/environment issues. Work Environment Regular office environment with personal computer, telephone, and fax. Risk of electrical shock and movement of hydraulic mechanical parts. Exposure to extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. Eight years total flying experience, five years military experience, at least two years KC‑135 Pilot flight instructor and training management experience. Recent experience as a KC‑135 Instructor Pilot or Evaluator Pilot. Completion of formal USAF Instructor training course. Strong facilitation and data analysis skills. Participation in periodic aircraft familiarization flights. Acquire and maintain proficiency in emergency procedures. Work with minimal supervision. Work overtime and flexible shifts. Eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance. Language Skills Read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Respond to sensitive inquiries and complaints. Generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals on complex subjects. Mathematical Skills Calculate figures, prices, commissions, percentages. Draw and interpret graphs. Reasoning Ability Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions. Interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from communication.
