At The Oaks at Plano, the resident experience comes to life through the people, programs, and everyday moments that help neighbors connect. We are looking for a Resident Experience Director who can build an engaging calendar, listen closely to residents, and create an atmosphere that feels active, welcoming, and personal.

This is a hands-on department-head role. You will lead programs across six dimensions of wellness, develop resident-led clubs and committees, coordinate events and outings, and help new residents feel included from the time they place a deposit through move-in. You will also partner with Sales, community leaders, families, vendors, and local organizations to strengthen participation, referrals, and community connection.

What you'll lead

• A complete resident experience.  Develop a seven-day calendar with at least five programs each day across spiritual and emotional wellness, physical wellness, intellectual growth, social connection, creative expression, and purposeful service. Personally lead at least four daily programs during the initial phase until resident-led options are established.
• Resident-led community life.  Learn what residents want, then help them build clubs, committees, and programs around their interests. Encourage residents to take an active role in shaping the calendar and welcoming others into community life.
• Events, outings, and everyday details.  Plan weekly excursions, seasonal decorations, special events, family functions, and quarterly resident, family, and friend referral events. Manage supplies and coordinate transportation, including driving the community vehicle when needed and approved.
• People and partner coordination.  Train and support associates and volunteers who assist with activities. Schedule third-party vendors and confirm that outside-led programs are delivered as planned and meet company expectations.
• Sales and referral partnership.  Own the resident, family, and friend referral program and work toward community-specific lead and move-in goals. Partner with the Sales Team on quarterly large prospect events, monthly elevated prospect events, weekly outreach efforts, and conversations with prospective residents and families.
• Local connection and service.  Build relationships with residents and local clubs, organizations, and community partners. Create opportunities for residents to participate in service and community in-reach based on their interests.
• Digital engagement and storytelling.  Use calendar technology to publish programs and help residents access it. Capture authentic photos and community moments for Marketing, support resident and family testimonials, and help residents complete surveys.
• Department leadership and accountability.  Create a warm, hospitality-focused atmosphere with the Executive Director and department heads. Coach assigned team members, complete departmental reports and required training, contribute at daily leadership meetings, support new-resident orientation, and participate in the Manager-on-Duty program as assigned.

What you'll bring

• Relevant experience.  A high school diploma or GED and experience planning activities. Experience working with older adults is preferred.
• Programming creativity.  The ideas and organizational skills to create an engaging mix of programs, manage multiple details, and adjust based on resident participation and feedback.
• Warm, steady hospitality.  A patient, tactful, upbeat approach and the judgment to provide excellent service in both routine and challenging situations.
• Communication and collaboration.  The ability to connect with residents, families, prospects, associates, volunteers, vendors, and community partners while contributing to a team-oriented culture.
• Comfort with technology.  Basic typing and computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and the ability to learn digital calendar, communication, and resident-engagement tools.
• Driving eligibility.  A valid state driver's license and clean driving record.

Schedule

The regular schedule is Tuesday through Saturday. Flexibility is needed for special events, evening or weekend programs, and assigned Manager-on-Duty coverage.
