Assistant Director, Retail Sales

Overview DriveTime Family of Brands is the largest privately owned used car sales, finance, and servicing company in the nation. As an Assistant Retail Director, you will oversee sales and operations for our dealerships in a regional market, ensuring healthy functioning while honoring DriveTime’s culture and adhering to our core values. Responsibilities Translate company strategies into actionable divisional plans and execute successful delivery. Work cross‑divisionally to drive execution of specific divisional and company strategies, initiatives, and projects. Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork. Support the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods, and practices to promote DriveTime key messages. Challenge and inspire employees to achieve business results. Ensure employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements. Oversee training and development of employees, directly and indirectly managed, and make effective staffing decisions. Provide coaching, direction, and leadership support to employees to achieve department, company, and customer results. Establish and maintain visibility within the department, division, and region. Monitor operational statistics, report trends, variances, and issues, and take appropriate action. Manage regional store teams and monitor KPIs that measure regional plan effectiveness and adjustments as necessary. Attract, recruit, train, and develop diverse top talent at all levels reflecting the community, customers, and potential new customers within each region. Align with other Regional Directors to ensure consistency in quality and best practices for the customer and employee experience. Qualifications Must be able to travel to multiple markets at least 75% of the time. Must be local to the Dallas‑FortWorth Metroplex and able to commute to a dealership daily. Verifiable and measurable proven track record of success. Bachelor’s degree with seven+ years of multi‑unit management experience and seven+ years with full P&L experience; equivalent education and experience considered. Results‑oriented leadership and ability to model total development and serve as a steward of DriveTime’s mission and values. Financial analysis skills to interpret operating statements, manage budgets, and control inventory. Ability to produce desired results by leveraging resources, maintaining tough expense control, managing merchandise effectively, and setting clear expectations. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, willingness to consistently provide superior customer service, and ability to react appropriately under pressure. Ability to apply good judgment in ambiguous situations and demonstrate flexibility/adaptability. Ability to collaborate with others to achieve objectives in a participatory management style.
