Distribution Waterborne Disease Assessment Intern Working with the Waterborne Disease and Risk Assessment Program (WDRAP) within our BWS Distribution Water Quality division located in Queens, Intern will actively contribute to the monitoring and investigative functions related to NYC cases of cryptosporidiosis and giardiasis. The primary focus of this internship is to assist and support the WDRAP team with investigations after clinical diagnoses have been made. Responsibilities will include helping coordinate use of on-line surveys to ascertain giardiasis case information, assist in outbreak investigations of cryptosporidiosis and giardiasis by interviewing case-patients, data entry, and data analysis. Candidate will be responsible for adhering to and complying with all environmental, health and safety laws, Agency policies, rules, and regulations. In addition, summer intern will develop a final presentation to display assignments they have been involved with while working as an intern at the DEP Interns Closing Ceremony.
