Customer Service Rep

Position Purpose: The primary function of Inside Sales is to provide product knowledge on building materials including drywall, insulation, metal studs for drywall, ceiling systems, stucco, construction tools, construction safety items, drywall compound, and accessories for the drywall industry. Key Responsibilities: Taking orders at the sales counter and over the phone. Building relationships with customers. Ability to use company computer system to enter orders. Complete sales orders and tender cash sales. Develop product knowledge to assist customers with purchases. Collaborate with Outside Sales Reps and Sales Managers to determine necessary strategic sales approaches. Overcome objections of prospective customers. Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports. Direct Manager/Direct Reports: Reports to the Inside Sales Supervisor/Manager, Sales Manager, Customer Service Supervisor, Showroom Manager, and/or Branch/Area Manager Travel Requirements: N/A Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in stationary position in an office environment: 50% Will frequently move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc. Must be able to operate basic office machinery. Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Constantly working in office environment. Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment. Requires extended periods of sitting, computer use, and telephone communication. Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, and other business technology. Regular interaction with employees, customers, vendors, and other business contacts. May require occasional lifting of office supplies or materials up to 15 pounds. Ability to maintain focus and productivity while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Work Location: N/A The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $20.00 to $25.00 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
