Restaurant Manager – Denny's Rochester, NY This posting is for an independently owned franchisee of Denny's (Reveille Management LLC), with restaurants in Indiana, New York, Ohio, Kentucky, and Illinois. Responsibilities Reporting to the General Manager, the Restaurant Manager supervises 15‑20 crew members, ensuring proper execution of restaurant operations during the assigned shift, providing guests with an exceptional dining experience, and upholding service and quality standards. Works with other Restaurant Managers and/or Hourly Supervisors to support the General Manager, always maintaining full accountability for the success of the restaurant. Requires working day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts as schedules are rotated. Additional tasks include employee selection and retention, continuous operational improvement, profit‑and‑loss analysis, operating plans and costs, and maintaining strong guest satisfaction commitment. Key Business Areas Assist colleagues proactively. Prepare and interpret financial and operational reports; analyze data and develop solutions to achieve operating goals. Oversee shifts, monitor brand standards and brand execution, direct hourly staff to meet guest service standards. Monitor controllable profit goals; take corrective actions to achieve desired results. Develop and coach hourly employees on brand standards, corporate policies, procedures, and guest‑focused activities. Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain talent to meet staffing requirements and guest service standards. Escalate employee relations issues and brand standard deviations to the General Manager, recommend corrections, and participate in execution. Work with the General Manager on training programs, individual development plans, and system assignments. Build community relationships with civic, business, school, and professional organizations. Ensure security procedures protect employees, guests, and company assets. Enforce sanitary food handling, cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen, dining areas, and restrooms. Maintain a respectful, enjoyable environment for guests and employees. Comply with employment policies, Brand Standards, and all applicable regulations. Follow cash handling, inventory, and other operational procedures. Complete any other tasks as assigned. Essential Functions Lift trays up to 25 lbs. Lift and carry supplies up to 60 lbs.; place items on high/low shelves, office, storeroom, service areas, walk‑in coolers, and freezers. Perform ergonomic movements – bend, stoop, reach, lift, grasp. Hear well in a loud environment to respond to staff and guest needs. Meet health‑risk regulations pertaining to food handling. Operate point‑of‑sale system and differentiate denominations. Work with all Denny’s menu products. Operate around hazardous chemicals. Move with sufficient mobility in confined spaces. Operate inside and outside the restaurant. Observe staff and all restaurant operations. Stand and walk during an 8‑10‑hour shift; occasional shifts may exceed 10 hours. Tolerate extreme temperature changes in kitchen and freezer areas. Position Qualifications Minimum of 2 years’ experience in restaurant, hospitality, or retail management (additional operations and/or leadership experience preferred). Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Food Safety Manager certification required. Strong organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. Effective communication in English. Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Respectful of diversity and values inclusion. Proven problem‑solving and high‑stress situation handling. Financial statement interpretation skills. Ability to perform duties of all positions. Multitask across business demands. Identify and anticipate opportunities and implement corrective actions.
