Job Summary:

Genesis Consulting is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to support a large public-sector organization with enterprise infrastructure modernization, cloud adoption, and technology transition initiatives. Working closely with architecture leadership and technical teams, this individual will help plan large-scale workload transitions, assess infrastructure capabilities, establish cloud governance standards, and align technology solutions with organizational needs.

The ideal candidate combines broad infrastructure and cloud architecture knowledge with strong facilitation, analytical, and communication skills. This role requires the ability to coordinate across multiple technical disciplines, lead stakeholder workshops, evaluate existing capabilities, and translate complex requirements into practical architecture recommendations and modernization roadmaps.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary architectural liaison for major facility move-outs, data center transitions, and large-scale workload migrations, identifying capacity gaps and planning the transition of enterprise platforms to scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and database teams to evaluate enterprise storage capabilities, identify gaps, and recommend solutions to support evolving business and technology needs.
• Develop and oversee hardware and software lifecycle strategies, including technology refresh planning, platform modernization, and risk mitigation.
• Lead proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives for data archiving and retention to evaluate solutions, reduce operational costs, and mitigate technology and compliance risks.
• Partner with desktop engineering and security teams to define modern endpoint management capabilities, device and workspace security baselines, and provisioning strategies across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Define architecture requirements and modernization strategies for critical communication systems, including messaging platforms, contact center solutions, and unified paging and alerting capabilities.
• Establish and evolve cloud governance models, including landing zone architecture, cloud account and subscription structures, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards and patterns.
• Develop architecture options, technical recommendations, and supporting materials for Architecture Review Board (ARB) discussions and decision-making.
• Facilitate workshops with agency stakeholders and technical teams to identify business requirements, technical constraints, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Translate stakeholder input and technical assessments into practical architecture recommendations, implementation plans, and modernization roadmaps.
• Coordinate across infrastructure, database, cloud, desktop engineering, security, and communications teams to align architecture decisions and ensure solutions address enterprise-wide requirements.
• Identify technical risks, capacity constraints, integration dependencies, and opportunities to improve scalability, security, operational efficiency, and long-term supportability.
• Document architecture decisions, standards, dependencies, and recommendations to support governance, planning, and implementation activities.
• Communicate complex technical concepts and proposed solutions clearly to technical teams, architecture leadership, and organizational stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in enterprise architecture, cloud architecture, infrastructure architecture, or systems engineering within a complex enterprise environment.
• Experience planning or supporting infrastructure modernization, data center transitions, facility move-outs, or large-scale workload migrations.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture and governance, including landing zones, account or subscription structures, and cloud infrastructure standards.
• Experience with enterprise storage platforms, hardware and software lifecycle management, data archiving, or retention strategies.
• Familiarity with modern endpoint management, device security baselines, and hybrid or cloud-based workplace environments.
• Experience assessing or designing enterprise communication solutions, such as messaging platforms, contact center systems, paging, and alerting architectures.
• Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles, standards, and implementation patterns.
• Ability to evaluate technical options, identify risks and dependencies, and develop actionable architecture recommendations.
• Experience preparing architecture documentation, technical assessments, decision materials, and recommendations for architecture governance forums.
• Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills, with the ability to build consensus across technical teams and organizational stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and adapt to evolving priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting public-sector organizations or large, complex enterprise environments.
• Experience with cloud adoption frameworks, enterprise cloud governance, and hybrid infrastructure strategies.
• Experience with enterprise architecture review boards, technical governance processes, and modernization roadmaps.
• Experience with cloud automation, Infrastructure-as-Code tools, endpoint management platforms, or enterprise communication technologies.
• Relevant cloud, infrastructure, or enterprise architecture certifications are desirable. xhyhwjd

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
