UNIV-Pharmacy Laboratories Assistant-College of Pharmacy

The Pharmacy Laboratories Assistant supports sterile compounding laboratory activities within the MUSC College of Pharmacy. This temporary, hourly position plays a key role in preparing, maintaining, and supporting instructional laboratory environments and in teaching and training pharmacy students in sterile compounding practices, including compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards.

Support the setup, operation, and breakdown of sterile compounding laboratory activities 10%

Prepare laboratory spaces and materials to support instructional sessions 10%

Teach and train pharmacy students in sterile compounding techniques and practices 25%

Provide instruction and guidance on regulatory standards, including USP 797 and USP 800, with emphasis on sterile and hazardous drug compounding 25%

Support a safe, compliant, and effective laboratory learning environment 10%

Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure laboratory readiness and instructional continuity 20%

Minimum requirements: a high school diploma and two years of experience or training within the specific work area.

Preferred experience: 20 years of pharmacy technician experience and 10 years of sterile compounding experience

Some positions require certification in CPR by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association. An associate degree in dental hygiene and licensure by the South Carolina State Board of Dentistry. Certification in Radiation Safety required for positions responsible for dental x-rays.
