Oncology Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse to join our oncology unit. This position involves caring for a diverse patient population, including those with acute oncology symptoms and hematological issues.

Shift Information:

Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Typical Shift Times: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Rotate with staff

Unit Information:

Unit Type: Med Surg (Medical Surgical)
Number of Beds: 29
Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:5, occasionally 1:6
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
Nurse Aides: Generally 3 per day
Common Diagnoses: Acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, medical overflow, oncology, and end-of-life care

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience with at least 1 prior travel assignment
Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred
ONS certification is preferred for chemotherapy administration with 2 years of experience in oncology specialty

Additional Information:

Orientation: 3 days specific to the unit
Floating: Rarely to medical acute units
Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
Telemetry: Available with a central monitor, but reading strips is not required
