- Comply with all safety requirements, company policies, and standard operating procedures at all times.
- Develop and maintain an intermediate-level understanding of the names and uses of tools used in assembly.
- Build a beginner-level understanding of component identification and product knowledge for fiber optic assemblies.
- Obtain and apply an intermediate-level understanding of measuring with both standard and metric systems, using available conversion tools as needed.
- Perform all tasks accurately and thoroughly to ensure a high-quality finished product.
- Use basic problem-solving skills to identify issues in the assembly process and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Report any irregularities related to daily production goals, product quality, or delays to production leadership.
- Read and interpret basic documentation such as work instructions, simple blueprints, wiring information, or schematics as needed for assembly tasks.
- Use hand tools and basic electrical tools such as wire crimpers, wire strippers, and other small assembly tools safely and correctly.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet overall department goals and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with small part assembly; if no manufacturing experience, experience in a hobby or role requiring fine dexterity (such as sewing, nail work, or computer building) is acceptable.
- Experience using hand tools in a production or assembly setting.
- Comfort working with small parts, wires, and cables in a repetitive, detail-oriented environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive manual tasks.
- Availability to work a daytime schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with frequent overtime on Fridays and the ability to work additional hours on Fridays and Saturdays (5–8 hours) as needed.
