VOCATIONAL SUPERVISOR

Summary: The Vocational Supervisor is responsible for assisting and maintaining an appropriate workload required to successfully implement the training, instruction, and daily work activities within the vocational program. To assist the Folk's with retaining, improving, or acquiring the vocational skills necessary to live and participate successfully in home and community life. To provide a "real work" environment that incorporates the elements of competitive employment with the needs of our Folk's. While having interpersonal communication skills, flexibility, and an open mindedness to work with the Director of Vocational Services.


There are currently four vocational projects at DRI. The duties of the Vocational Supervisor will primarily be in regards to Document Destruction although the Vocational Supervisor will keep the Director of Vocational Services informed as well as also provide support for the other three vocational projects and other duties as assigned by the Director. The primary duties of the Vocational Supervisor for these specific projects are:

Document Destruction
  • To satisfy the customer base of firms, agencies, and individuals to provide material for document destruction
  • Ensure security of material received for destruction to avoid compromise of sensitive data
  • Ensure document pick-up meets customer expectations and the DRI mission
  • Supervises activities of Folk's in his/her care
The following will be as needed or directed by the Vocational Director:

Chili Blend
  • Ensure sanitary standards
  • Ensure materials are available
Pepper Bites
  • Ensure sanitization of area
  • Store ingredients and products properly
  • Ensure Folk's observe sanitary practices
Qualifications:
  • Shall remain current in all required training
  • Shall maintain valid CPR certification
  • Shall meet the requirements of DRI driving policy
  • Must be high school graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write, in English, routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak the English language effectively
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
