Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Telemetry

This is a 13-week contract position.

7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (12 Hour Nights) with a 36 Hour Guarantee. Every Other Weekend.

Functioning within the Health System's mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on their shift. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based upon scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.

• Assess patient needs and develop nursing care plans.
• Implement and evaluate patient care based on assessment and age-specific criteria.
• Administer medications, including cardiac medications and titration as necessary.
• Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in heart rhythms.
• Identify signs/symptoms of stroke and implement appropriate interventions.
• Direct and educate non-RN staff regarding patient care activities.

• 2+ Years of Experience - Required.
• Active American Heart Association BLS Certification - Required.
• Active American Heart Association ACLS Certification - Required.
• Active Ohio/OH or Compact RN License - Required.
• Competence in telemetry and knowledge of cardiac medications.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
