RN Pediatric Care Unit (PCU) - Chinle, AZ

• BLS and PALS required
• ACLS, NRP, TNCC, and specialty certifications preferred.

• Knowledge of nursing process applied to individualized, goal-oriented pediatric care
• Knowledge of scientific/psychosocial nursing theory and Indian patient-centered care
• Knowledge of pharmacology (medications, dosages, effects, complications)
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
• Basic computer literacy
• Cultural awareness and respect for American Indian/Alaska Native (Navajo) practices; ability to work effectively with patients who may speak only Navajo
• Strong English communication skills (read/write/speak)

• Provide full-range pediatric medical-surgical care to patients admitted to the PCU
• Apply nursing process to deliver individualized, goal-oriented pediatric nursing care
• Recognize disease complications and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions
• Analyze medical procedure results and translate into nursing interventions
• Work harmoniously within the healthcare team and with patients/families
• Participate in inter-facility transports as directed by Supervisor
• Document care using CCHCF's Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
• Follow facility policies, TJC, OSHA, and IHS standards
• Provide clinical guidance to staff; ensure unit compliance with daily quality checks
• May serve as Team Lead: make patient unit assignments based on acuity; oversee narcotic inventory, daily checks/logs
• Comply with peer review (Joint Commission standards) and safety reporting requirements
